Education of the child is done with a holistic approach: actions, emotions, sensory perception, bodily experiences, and thoughts are developed and heard; allowing the child to have the opportunity of making their own decisions and make responsible choices.

The Touhula Star is located in the Pyynikki/Amuri district, right across the street from Pyynikki Square.  The ECEC center is easily accessible by any form of transportation (tram, bus, or vehicle).  Please note that to come into our ECEC center, you have to use the entrances found in the inner courtyard.

One of the most important customer promises in the Touhula Star is creating a love of learning.  We work with children that have such diverse backgrounds of culture, languages, and ideas so it is extremely important for us to listen to the child and the family to find ways so that all children have the opportunity to learn and have fun doing so! In our day we have to recreate many situations for the children that allow them to learn new vocabulary, experience ideas in many different ways, and help develop in them a sense of tolerance and understanding.

In our daycare centre, we encounter everyone with respect. We make sure that our children understand that it is ok to use different languages, listen to different ideas, and make friends with everyone.

Our daycare centre is surrounded by many different locations that develop the children’s interests.  In our neighborhood we have Pyynikki Forest, the Metso Library, The Tampere Art Museum, and many different parks and playgrounds.  In addition, as transportation is of easy access, the children can take field trips to many different locations in Tampere.

Across the street from our location, we find the Finnish International School of Tampere (FISTA) in which your child can continue their studies in English.

Thanks to our Tougo App, the staff and families have an open way to communicate. We also meet and greet the parents in the mornings and afternoons to ensure that our families know how their child’s day went and what we did throughout the day. Our favorite is having the opportunity to throw fun events in which the children and parents can participate and enjoy spending time with us!
